Setter Play worked with Rosh Pinah Primary School through the entire academic year to refine and expand on our proposals to refresh their EYFS play area, making sure to deliver on each area of their brief as it developed and revising our designs until they were really happy with it. The scheme included new surfacing, a new canopy, and new play provisions designed to provide a well-rounded focus on outdoor play and learning.
The upper area featured an exciting new multi-sport play area, a gorgeous rainbow canopy, a refreshed sandpit and a role-play roadway in the new rubber surfacing.

The rainbow canopy really refreshes the space! The vibrant roof catches the light on sunny days to create an engaging sensory effect on the ground.

We refreshed their existing breezeblock sandpit with new play sand throughout, and a beautiful role-play enclosure with peep hole windows, creating an inviting natural-play den space.

The top of the space includes a new artificial grass multi-sport area, with a multi-sport goal/basketball hoop/cricket stump, and separate target panel, along with complementary inlaid sports markings in the surface.

The main area has a huge roadway for ride-on toys, encouraging their pupils to create role-play games, develop their understanding of the world, and burn energy in a focused and productive way.

The lower play area was also re-surfaced throughout, with lots of old equipment removed to provide more free space for Rosh Pinah’s pupils to simply run around!

The centrepiece of the new play area is a role-play boat-themed climbing frame, providing a space for the lower range of the EYFS age group with their own space to play and develop physically, socially and emotionally.

A small playhouse creates an inviting den for socialising, role-play, or quiet group work outdoors.

The school requested a water play area, so we added a water wall with splash basin and giant outdoor scales.

A sliding lid sandpit completes the space and adds more natural provision.

We’re thrilled with this vibrant and impactful scheme, completed ready for the children to return after summer!
