St. Michael’s Primary School in Colchester, Essex, have asked Setter Play in to complete previous works in their grounds, so we were very grateful to be invited to complete their next project! They wanted to transform their two courtyards to create spaces for their SEN children with additional needs. Their brief was to soften the space and also provide some limited physical play provision, without filling the space. We included a set of tumble bars as these are great for swinging round or hanging off to self-support, on lovely blue wetpour surfacing to create a more vibrant yet calming appearance to the area.
The second courtyard featured artificial grass surfacing beneath a new canopy, inviting their children to enjoy the outdoors during breaktimes and lessons, all year round.
This neat little project was delivered over the summer break, ready for their pupils to enjoy in the new academic year!
