Setter Play have delivered another hugely transformative scheme for Ashwell Primary School in north Hertfordshire, marking the latest chapter in our long-standing and much valued working relationship.

The school’s brief for this project was to excavate further into their grass field, which sits on a gentle slope uphill, in order to create more level ground for all-weather play.

This project entailed huge earthworks to dig into the mound, before installing a retaining wall to the rear and sides.

We then installed a new adventure trail as requested by the school, before installing green wetpour rubber surfacing throughout.

The new Adventure Trail complements the existing play provisions we’ve already supplied to the school, adding a new space and a new challenge for their pupils to enjoy.

On the other side of the tarmac play area we also installed a level play area to extend the space outside of the school’s  classrooms.

This area also required excavations and a retaining wall, with flagstone paving fitted underfoot to provide dependable year-round access.

The extended space provides the perfect area for outdoor lessons, with lots of additional benches, and a table tennis table.

This project really demonstrates what Setter Play are capable of, beyond regular play areas!
